How it works

A rotating spotlight, chosen fairly

Every round runs for 8 weeks, then we draw again - so different wards get a turn in the spotlight over time.

Ward staff recommend

Any staff member can put a ward forward at any time using the form below. Once nominated, a ward stays in the selection pool for good.

We randomly select one

Ahead of each 8-week round, we draw at random from every ward ever nominated - excluding only the last 3 wards we've visited, since new people arrive on a ward all the time.

8 weeks of giving

For 8 weeks, supporters can choose to give directly to that hospital instead of the general Hope Bags fund.

Why this exists

A closer connection between hospitals and supporters

Sponsor a Ward lets staff shine a light on the ward they know best - and lets supporters see, specifically, where their money is going for a defined period of time.

Funds raised during a ward's sponsorship go toward extra Hope Bags, pop-up shop stock and small comfort items requested by that ward's staff.

Good to know

This is a new, separate way to give - our main Donate page and monthly giving continue exactly as they are.

Nominations are staff-only and never expire. A ward stays eligible for every future draw unless it was one of our last 3 sponsored wards.
